What is the most obvious secret?

I think that almost everyone in the world except for a small percentage of people who have had a decent level of meditative realisation, have been simply going from one distraction to the next, from the day they were born, until right now.

Every moment is preceded by looking for something you want, and then either finding that thing or forgetting about it. There’s not a single moment in life since shooting out of your mother to this very moment where you have not been following the last thing you desired. Just a never ending cycle of being ricocheted from one thing to the next, like one billiard ball hitting another.

I think people are honestly desperate for mental and intellectual stimulation and saturation, like complete encompassing bombardment of interest and excitement. But that never comes, it’s just a continuous cycle of going from one thing to the next.

But you never notice that, it doesn’t feel like you’re involuntarily pulled from random desire to the next, it feels like its ‘you’ deciding everytime. The few times this pattern changes, are usually the rare moments when something horrible happens in life.
